Reno Paul Dugas

ERATH — A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Reno Paul Dugas, 92, will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 1:00 PM till 9:00 PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Monday , April 25, 2016 from 8:00AM until the time of Services.
 A native of Henry and resident of Erath, Mr. Dugas died at 5:45 PM on Thursday, April, 21, 2016 at his residence.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a chef during WWII.  Mr. Reno spent his life building a legacy that his family cherishes.  Reno “Doc” loved all animals, especially his cattle as he was a cattle farmer.  Over the years, it was not uncommon for friends to reach out to Mr. Reno for  him to prepare meals for large groups of family and friends.  Reno loved camping and was a member of the Good Sam Club, American Legion Post 279, and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. His hobbies were playing cards and fishing, but his passion in life was his family and friends.
He is survived by his brother Eluse Dugas of Erath; his daughters Barbara Toups and her husband Lorres, and Mitzi Turner and her husband Floyd; his grandchildren Bryan Toups, Brent Toups, Kevin Toups, Amy Toups, Marc Turner, Andrea Ford, and Matthew Turner; and Great-grandchildren Gavin Toups, Caroline Toups, Sarah Toups, Ethan Toups, Silas Toups, Grant Ford, Graham Ford, Jackson Turner, Olivia Turner, and Brylin Turner.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Wilda Broussard Dugas, and his parents Aduse Dugas and Olevia Dubois Dugas;  his brothers Elton Dugas, Curley Dugas, and a sister Una Dugas Broussard.
Serving as Pallbearers are Bryan Toups, Brent Toups, Kevin Toups, Gavin Toups, Marc Turner, and Matthew Turner.

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2016 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Glenda Veazey LeLeux, 63, who died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Bill Melancon officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Chad Veazey, Colt Bergeron, Nicolas Hitter, Jason Michon, Karl Harrington, and Josh Dartez.
Glenda grew up loving the country where she spent much of her childhood. After her marriage to James R. LeLeux, Sr. she lived in the heart of Abbeville, LA for the better part of two decades raising her two sons, James, Jr (Chuck) and Marcus. In the latter part of the 1980s she and James realized a lifelong dream by beginning their own cattle ranch.
Glenda will be remembered most for her loving and giving spirit. She was always there to help when needed, be it kind word, prudent advice or application of her creative talents. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, painting, floral arrangement, and recently jewelry making. For the last decade, Glenda has enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Mara and Zachary LeLeux.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James R. LeLeux, Sr. of Abbeville; two sons, James R. LeLeux, Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Lafayette, and Marcus J. LeLeux and his wife Kelly of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Mara LeLeux, Zachary LeLeux and Nicolas Hitter; brother, Norman Veazey and his wife Verna of Abbeville; and sisters, Lois Michon and her husband Maxie of Abbeville, and Angela Veazey and her husband John Earl of Abbeville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guster Veazey and the former Ethel Copell.

She is survived by her two sons, Trey DeRouen and Chase DeRouen; brothers, Kevin Delahoussaye and his wife Robin and Keith Delahoussaye; sister, Heather Felton and her husband Ricky; step-father, Raywood Frederick; step-brothers, Phil Frederick and Richard Frederick; and a step-sister, Cindy Eberhart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kendal DeRouen; and her parents, Howard Delahoussaye and the former Laura Denase.

ERATH – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. John Steven Broussard, Sr., 75, will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at St. John Catholic Church with Fr. Manny Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.
Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 8:00AM until the time of the services.
A native of Erath and resident of Henry, Mr. Johnny passed away peacefully at 3:08AM on Monday, April 25, 2016 at his residence. He was on the Board of Prairie Gregg Drainage District; a Member of Les Chretiens; A Member of the Giant Omelette Confrerie; and Past Member of St. John Choir. He was also known for his enjoyment of cattle farming, fishing, boating, camping, and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie B. Broussard of Henry; his mother, Ruth Bellamy Broussard of Erath; two sons, John “Steve” Broussard, Jr. and his wife Roxanne of Erath; and Michael Broussard and his wife Tammy of Tampa, FL; three daughters, Maria “Mimi” LeGros and her husband Robert of Erath, Michelle Wood and her husband Lee “Woody” of Maurice, and Julie Grisaffe of Erath; twelve grandchildren, Dansi Broussard, Baylee LeGros, Trebor LeGros, Tristen LeGros, Michaela Broussard, Paris Broussard, Gracie Wood, Hope Wood, Shelbie Grisaffe and her fiancé Jacob Eagleson, Marsha LeMarie, Nicole Faciane, and Nick Faciane ; four great grandchildren, Aven Cross Eagleson, Logan LeMaire, Landon LeMaire, and Caroline LeMaire; and two brothers, James Rueben Broussard and Thomas A. Broussard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Broussard; two brothers, David George Broussard and Jerry Bellamy; and a nephew, Frank David Broussard.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tristen LeGros, Trebor LeGros, Matt DesOrmeaux, Anthony DesOrmeaux, Grant Broussard, and Dave Broussard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Concepts of Care, especially Melody Theriot and Laurie Touchet; Lamm Hospice; and Dr. Ronald Lahasky for the compassion and care they gave Mr. Johnny.

She is survived by her daughter, Lou Anna Conner and her husband, Joel of Houma; five grandchildren, Chad Simon of Maurice, Denise Simon of Kaplan, Ada Conner LeBouef of Houma, Mandy Simon Ortego of Chataignier, and Chris Conner of Houma; and twelve great grandchildren, Abby, Gabbi, Natalie, Jack, Laura, Christian, Mallory, Mia, Morgan, Lorraine, Claire, and Cohen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Simon; one son, Marvin P. Simon; her parents, Gabriel and Eda Meaux; and one brother, Maxie Meaux.

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church honoring the life of John Clay Bergeron, 62, who died Friday, April 22, 2016 at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Johnathan Janise officiating the services. Pallbearers will be John Karl Bergeron, Ian Methvin, Barrett Beraud, Jason Bergeron, Damon Bergeron and David Nash. Honorary pallbearers Ayden Beraud, Peyton Methvin, Evan Beraud, Chris Bergeron, Nick Bergeron, Tommy Chreene and Robert D. LeGros.
John retired from Chevron/Texaco after 35 years of service and was an avid deer hunter. He was a faithful husband and a kind and loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Bergeron; son, John Karl Bergeron and his wife Jami of Maurice; daughters, Mandi B. Methvin and her husband Ian of Maurice, and Christi B. Beraud and her husband Barrett of Maurice; grandchildren, Ayden Beraud, Taylor Methvin, Gracie Bergeron, Peyton Methvin, Sophie Bergeron and Evan Beraud; and sister, Maxine B. Istre and her husband Tommy of Maurice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Curley Bergeron and the former Elizabeth Mae Hebert; brother, Karl Bergeron; and sister Gladys “Rachael” Bergeron.

Harvey Lee Broussard

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Harvey Lee Broussard, 86, who passed away on April 26, 2016.
Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, JCL, will be Celebrant of the Mass.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Harvey, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Harry Broussard and the former Pearl Rodrigue.
Harvey was a graduate of Cathedral Carmel High School. He retired from Sears after 35 years as Appliance Department Manager. Harvey enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1948 and was Honorably Discharged in 1956, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a parishioner of St. Jules Catholic Church and was active in the St. Jules Knights of Columbus. Harvey was an avid sailor and boating enthusiast, who was an active member of the Cypremort Point Yacht Club, serving as Commodore where he enjoyed numerous races and gatherings with friends. He also loved traveling and camping with his wife, Ruth and working outdoors on his farm property. In retirement Harvey spent countless hours entertaining his grandchildren who he cherished. Above all, Harvey was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Sellers Broussard; his daughter, Joan Moody and her husband, Daniel; two grandchildren, Ellen and Ben Moody; one sister, Sable Hidalgo and one brother, Hubert Broussard and his wife, Gaynell as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of service.

Rona Lee O’Quinn, 81, passed away Wednesday, April 20, in St. Luke’s Hospital, The Woodlands, TX. She was born in Abbeville, LA on February 4, 1935 and retired as Director, Court Operations, United States District Court.
Rona was preceded in death by her Mother, Anite Quarles and her Father, Lucius T. O’Quinn. She is survived by her sister, Rita Atkins of Sulphur, LA; her brother L. T. O’Quinn, Jr and wife Donalynn of Hillister, TX; brother Leonard Toups and wife Carolyn of Pasadena, TX; Diane Palacios (whom Rona lovingly called her “Kid”) and husband Napoleon; and her two long-time friends, Janan Crowder and Barbara May.
In accordance with Rona’s wishes, in lieu of formal services a Celebration of Life will be held in Lake Charles, LA for her Louisiana friends and relatives and one in the Houston area for her closest Texas friends.

ABBEVILLE – Funeral services for Ruth Augustus is scheduled for 12:00 noon Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Faith Hope Christian Fellowship. She will await the resurrection in the St. Paul Cemetery. Bishop B. K. Stevens will officiate the service.
Ruth Augustus, 88, a long time resident of Abbeville passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Cynthia Bessard, Mark Ursin, Albert Ursin (Lynette), Marcus Ursin (Tammy), Ronnie Paul, Emitte, Russell, and Amanda Valere. She is also survived by two son-in-laws, Lloyd Valere and Randolph Bessard, three daughter-in-laws, Pamela Ursin, Chloe Augustus, and God sent Charlotte Davis, 17 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mandy Augustus, sisters, Rachel Williams, Gertrude Willis, Mamie Grant, Gladys Nolan; one son, Warren Augustus; brothers, North, Louis, Emitte Augustus, Hayward, and sister-in-laws, Daisy Ursin and Eloise Ursin.
Visitation will be at Faith Hope Christian Fellowship from 8:00 A.M. until time of service.

Adontee's friends and family gave him the nickname of "gentle giant"; he was a big guy with a big heart.
He is survived by his mother, Rhenona Mitchell Frank of Erath; father, Larry Martin of Joliet, IL; dad, Kenneth Frank of Erath; three sisters, Arianna Bridges of Abbeville, Aniyah Martin of Erath, and Makayla Frank of New Iberia; maternal grandparents, Gloria Mitchell of Abbeville, and Milton Mitchell, III and his wife Penny of Erath; paternal grandparents, Loretta Martin of Joliet, IL, and Larry Martin and his wife Linda of Joliet, IL; great grandmother, Myrtis Evans of Joliet, IL; uncles, Milton Mitchell, IV, Jeremiah Mitchell and Elijah Mitchell; step-grandmother, Geraldine Frank of New Iberia; and a host of cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.

Lodger Joseph Segura

April 25, 1936 – April 30, 2016

Lodger J. Segura, a native of Erath and longtime resident of Franklin, passed away at the age of 80, on Saturday at 11:47 a.m. at his home surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
L. J. was born April 25, 1936 to the late Leby Segura and the late Adia Duplantis Segura in Erath, LA. He joined the Marine Corp in June 1954 and was honorably discharged in April 1958. He married later that year and moved to Franklin in 1964 while working at Pelican Creamery. He then became employed by the United States Postal Service in Franklin until his retirement.
L. J. was a co-founder, along with his wife, of the Krewe of Agmarol in Franklin, a member of the American Legion, and served 4 years as a Franklin City Councilman. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
L. J. was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a loyal friend. His hobbies included gardening, visiting family and friends, and caring for his wife when she became ill.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Conner Segura, his daughter (and caregiver) Tammy Segura Himel, and her husband Warren (Butch), one granddaughter, Alice Himel, all of Franklin, two grandsons, Adam Himel and his wife Kristen of Erath and Ben Himel and his wife Cindy of Carencro, five great grandchildren, two brothers, Randall Segura and his wife, Jo, of Texas, and Robert Segura and his wife, Lona, of Abbeville, one sister, Mary Dale Segura Dronet and her husband, Rudy, of Erath, his fur baby, Taylor, his oldest and dearest friend, Irvin Sonnier, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

ABBEVILLE — Graveside Services for Lester J. “Pee Wee” Gayneaux, 75, will be 11:00AM Thursday May 5, 2016 at Bancker Cemtery in Henry.
“Pee Wee”, a life long resident of Abbeville, passed away Saturday April 30, 2016 at Eastridge Nursing Home in Abbeville.
He was employed as a alligator hunter for the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Dept. and was once a jockey racing horses.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheri Gayneaux LeBlanc and husband Michael Johnson of Erath; his brother Russell Gayneaux ; his sister Betty Trahan both of Abbeville; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Broussard Gayneaux; his son Lynn Gayneaux; and his parents Galva and Vernice Mire Gayneaux.

Longshore of Conroe, TX; one sister, Valerie and her husband, Kevin Marceaux of Abbeville; one nephew, Brenden Marceaux; three nieces, Taylor Marceaux, MaKenzie "Kenzie" Marceaux, and Rylee Marceaux; her maternal grandmother, Lucy LeLeux; her extended grandparents, Louise and Bennie Como; her godfathers, Larry Adams and Allen Romero; her godmother, Gwen LeLeux; her aunts and uncles, Debbie and Patrick Simon, Janice and Mike Simon, Joe Simon, Donna and Mark Flanakin, and Brenda Lafose; her cousins, Deidre Adams, Skye Hair, Jessica Hair, Joelle Adams, and Destiny Hair; her loving and faithful dog, Hoagie; and her very close friends, Jeremy, Nicole, Marcus, Blake, Scooby, Bailey, Chad, and Krystal.

Sheila Ann Williams, a resident of Abbeville, LA passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Lafayette General Hospital.
She leaves to mourn her passing, two children, Shawonda Maze and Ambers Maze III, Jr. both of Galveston, TX; a special friend, Joseph Petry of Abbeville, LA; her siblings, Dale Paul Williams of Orange, TX; Nikadmous Williams, Sr. (Anita), Rodney Williams, Randy Williams (Enetta), Cheryl A. Williams, all of Port Arthur, TX; and Charlotte A. Williams-Harris (Tony, Sr.) of Lafayette, LA; two Grandchildren, two Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Nicadmous Williams, Sr. and Delores Thibeaux Williams; a husband, Ambers Maze, Sr., and one son, Jeffery Lee Williams.

KAPLAN — Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Kevin Guidry, 52, who passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be David Hardee, Daniel Domingue, Willie Leonard, Jeremy Primeaux, Brady Stelly, and Sammy Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Mayor Kirk Champagne, Councilman John Carbaugh, Brent Dubois, and Mason Guidry. Scripture readings for the service will be read by Eva Dell Morrison and Christine Trahan.
Musical selections will be performed by Laura Couvillon and Matt Boucher.
Kevin was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Melissa Guidry of Kaplan; one son, Casey Guidry and his wife, Jacquelyne of Kaplan; two grandchildren, Mason and Audrey Guidry of Kaplan; two sisters, Gail Stelly of Duson and June Guidry of Kaplan; and one brother, David Guidry and his wife, Sherry of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Guidry and the former Audrey Doucet.

She was laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Maurice, with Reverend Louis Richard officiating the services.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Avery Dartez of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe Dennis Jackson and the former Marcia Kerr.
