A Celebration of Life Service will be held at The Bayou Church, 2234 Kaliste Saloom Road, Lafayette, LA 70508 on Friday September 23rd, 2016. Suzette unexpectedly passed away at home of a stroke September 12th, 2016. Visitation is from 10am to 11am with the service at 11am in the sanctuary followed by a luncheon in The Café.
Suzette was born in Abbeville, LA on September 14, 1960 to Mattie Holmes Rollow and L.J. Broussard. She loved the Lord and enthusiastically shared her faith in His saving grace with just about everyone who crossed her path. Because of that profession of faith, we know that we will be reunited with her in Heaven.
Always full of life and enthusiasm, she had boundless energy. Recently Suzette had re-located to St. Augustine, FL from Lafayette, LA to begin a new chapter in her life as the General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in St. Augustine Beach. She loved her position and the people she worked with.
The light of her life, her son Marcus had just begun his first semester at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA on full academic scholarship. Though she knew she would miss him, she beamed with pride at his achievements and the bright future she believed God had in store for him. Her family will continue to offer love, support and encouragement to help Marcus meet those goals.
Graduating from Clearlake High School in Clearlake, Texas in 1978 Suzette continued her education by obtaining a degree in Accounting from Houston Community College in Houston, TX. Later, she earned a B.S. in Hotel/Motel Management from Columbia Southern University. She had a great work ethic and enjoyed investing her time in training and guiding the careers of the many people who worked with her through the years.
An avid New Orleans Saints fan she also loved crocheting, purchasing and re-selling items in her eBay store, playing bingo, and reading. Her love for life was infectious and she had an unforgettable laugh and very dry wit.
She is survived by her precious son, Marcus Maldonado, her mother Mattie H. (Mitzie) Rollow, her stepfather, Thomas H. Rollow of Lafayette, LA; stepmother, Brenda Burley of Youngsville, LA; sisters, Sharon Kay (Kay) Newsom and her husband, Michael of Oldsmar, FL; Dina Broussard and her husband, Dwight of Lafayette, LA; brother, Lee Jason Broussard (Jason) and his wife, Monique Choplin of Katy, TX; nieces, Kellie Albert and Cassie Stoutenborough; nephew, Lee Jaydon Broussard (L.J.) and many great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mario Maldonado; her beloved father, L.J. Broussard, paternal grandparents, Lyanake and Winnie Broussard of Abbeville, LA and maternal grandparents James Whitfield and Evelina Holmes of Mouton Cove, LA.
